Problem Statement

The company Torpedo builds electric outboard boat motors very successfully. The small start-up has grown steadily and customer service can no longer manage the volume of enquiries and returns using Excel spreadsheets.

You have been asked to create the concept for a database that customer service can use to track returns, their processing status and the findings for quality assurance and product improvement

– employees create a new case for each return. This contains the affected products and other relevant information.

– The case contains a status such as „received“, „under test“, „under repair“, „returned“, etc.

– Employees can change the status of a case.

– There is an overview of the progress of a case to date.

– There is a search function for cases, products and comments.

– There is a list of known errors. A known error can be assigned to a case after testing.

– New errors can be created.

– The frequency of errors can be displayed.
